  • Mechanisms underlying the behavioral and neurotrophic benefits of maternal choline supplementation (MCS) on basal forebrain cholinergic neurons (BFCNs) and hippocampal neurons in mouse models of DS.
  • Single population expression profiling of hippocampal, neocortical, and cholinergic basal forebrain neurons in postmortem human tissues from subjects diagnosed with AD, DS, or MCI compared to age- and gender-matched nondemented control subjects with no cognitive impairment (NCI).
  • To determine the cellular and molecular substrates of medial temporal lobe (MTL) selective vulnerability within the transentorhinal cortex, entorhinal cortex, and hippocampal formation in subjects prior to a clinical diagnosis of MCI.
  • Assessment of the gut-brain microbiome in mouse models of AD and DS following CR and MCS, respectively, via coordinated metagenomic, RNA-seq, and metabolomics approaches.
