Obesity and Diabetes
People who are obese have a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which is also known as insulin-resistant diabetes. Being overweight or obese increases the chances of developing the common type of diabetes, type 2 diabetes. Obesity is believed to account for 80-85% of the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
