Dental Public Health

Dental public health is the specialty focused on the promotion of oral health and the prevention of dental diseases at a community or population level. It involves dental epidemiology, health policy planning, preventive programs, and access to care issues. Community water fluoridation, school dental programs, and smoking cessation initiatives are examples of effective public health strategies.

We encourage articles that critically evaluate public health initiatives, analyze epidemiological data, or propose innovative interventions for underserved populations at the Journal of Dentistry: Oral Health & Cosmesis. Research on disparities in oral healthcare access, behavioral interventions to improve oral hygiene, and the impact of socioeconomic factors on oral health are particularly welcome. Contributions linking oral public health with broader health system frameworks will add value to our journal’s vision.
