Forensic Anthropology

Forensic anthropology and identification is a critical discipline that applies anthropological techniques to the identification of human remains and the investigation of criminal cases. Forensic anthropologists play a crucial role in identifying human remains, particularly when the body is decomposed, burned, or otherwise unrecognizable. Forensic anthropology involves the analysis of skeletal remains to determine age, sex, ancestry, stature, and trauma, as well as to establish the cause and manner of death.

We welcome research that explores innovative methods in forensic identification, including facial reconstruction, forensic odontology, and the integration of DNA analysis with skeletal remains. Studies addressing the application of forensic anthropology in mass disasters, humanitarian identification, decomposed bodies, and the ethical challenges of forensic analysis are particularly encouraged.
